ImageANOTHER YEAR OF SONY AWARDS SUCCESS FOR RADIO INDIES

Congratulations from the Radio Independents Group to the radio indies who, once again, managed to win big at the 2009 Sony Radio Academy Awards. Chair of RIG, Neil Gardner, said of the success, "Does the BBC and the rest of the industry need any more proof of the worth of independent radio production?! It is about time the broadcasters started making best use of this incredible resource, instead of marginalising us. If commissioning is all about meritocracy, then these results show that radio indies deserve a bit more merit!"
